I’ll admit, I was late to the Juvia’s Place train. I can recall seeing photos of one of their palettes a little while ago, but never gave it much thought. Recently, I came across Juvia’s Place again, and this time I really checked the brand out. Believe me, I wish I had paid attention sooner! They have quite the selection of palettes available, and I feel that there is definitely something for everyone. No matter your makeup style (bright colors, neutrals, somewhere in between) you’ll definitely be able to find a product that suits you!
As soon as I fixed my eyes on The Warrior Palette… it was game over. The shades in this palette are so gorgeous, and I immediately thought of all the different looks I would be able to create. This is a total ‘brown’ palette in terms of shades. Juvia’s Place describes the shades as: Golds, Bronzes, Browns. That selection may not appeal to everyone, but I personally did not have a complete brown palette in my collection before purchasing this one!
Now, I have seen a number of people stating that they’ve had terrible experiences with Juvia’s Place. Honestly, I didn’t see the hate until I had already placed my order, which made me so nervous. But, so far I’ve personally had no issues. My product arrived on time, and in excellent condition! The complaints that I’ve seen range from people stating that their products arrived already used, or in very poor condition. Or that they were charged, but never received their order. Mainly, the complaints have been with their customer service (or lack of) when dealing with these issues. Again, my experience has been great but I thought that it would be important to get that out there in case you’ve also seen the hate and are now second guessing purchasing anything.
Had I seen the feedback beforehand would I have still ordered? Honestly, I don’t know. Seeing negative reviews/experiences on something does make you a little apprehensive. Especially if it’s your first time buying from a brand. In my opinion, Juvia’s took extra precaution with my order. More so than some other brands that I’ve ordered from online. If anything, I applaud Juvia’s for the awesome packing. It does suck that so many others have had such terrible experiences, but I’m here to let you know that I personally did not.
Now, the shimmer shades in this palette are absolutely gorgeous! Normally, I find that it’s the shimmer shades that are harder to work with, but with this palette it’s actually the opposite. The matte shades are harder to swatch, and have so much fallout. Not ridiculously so, but still a good amount of fallout. I actually find the matte shades to be a little lackluster compared to the others in this palette. All of the shades have almost like a creamy feel to them, very soft and highly pigmented. One tap of your finger, and the shades are vibrant and incredible. The pan sizes themselves are a good size, and with a little going a long way I can see many uses out of this palette. I will be sure to update ya’ll on how the shades wear overtime, as I have more time to really dig in and play with this palette.
Have any of ya’ll tried Juvia’s Place yet? Let me know some of your favorites from the brand.
Take a look at the gorgeous swatches below, and let me know your favorite shades! My favorites so far are: Amina, Idia, Dahomey, Bakwa, Kano, and Benin.
Until next time,
