When I started seeing images and reviews of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Norvina Palette palette, I just knew that this would be my birthday (July, 21) present to myself! All of ABH’s previous palettes have looked so gorgeous, and have rave reviews! Plus, their Liquid Lipsticks are among my favorite. However, with a $42.00 dollar price tag this palette is definitely more than I’d typically spend on such an item. This will be just my first impression of the palette, as I’ve yet to really wear the shades. I will update ya’ll on the staying power of the shades a little later. So, is the Norvina Palette worth the price tag? Let’s find out.
Let’s start off with the packaging. This brand always has super pretty packaging, and this palette surely did not disappoint in that department. You can’t tell from the photos, but the actual palette itself is all velvet. Yes, velvet. It feels so soft and luxurious in your hands. It also has a little weight to it, which I always like. This palette doesn’t feel cheap or flimsy, by any means. With this palette, you also receive a double sided brush and a good size mirror. I know that their are mixed opinions on double sided brushes, but I personally don’t mind them. The brush is a little smaller than I expected, but it’s a good quality brush that get’s the job done. Plus, it has the Anastasia Beverly Hills Logo on it which is really cute. My only complaint after using the palette for a couple of days now, is that the palette get’s so dirty very quickly! You definitely have to make sure that your there is no eyeshadow or any product on your hands when you pick this up, because it will show.
Moving on to the shades themselves. These shades are super pigmented, and blend like a dream. Even the matte shades are pigmented, and easy to blend. The shimmer shades have a wet feel to them, and literally only require one light tap to see the true color. With this palette, you do not need a heavy hand at all. The shades are all easy to work with, and can be built up. I love the overall color combination, and feel that it is perfect for some fun summer and spring looks. I also feel that a few of the shades will be around well into fall. It’s definitely a versatile palette, that can create a number of looks. Overall, I’m highly impressed with this palette! The price is a little up there, but it’s definitely been worth every penny so far. This is one of those palettes where swatches don’t even do it justice. It’s so gorgeous in person.
As far as a favorite shades goes, that’s a tough one! There are several shades in this palette that are my favorites. If I had to pick I’d go with with: Rose Gold, Soul, Eccentric, Wild Child, Dazzling, Summer, Passion, and Celestial.
Take a look at the swatches below, and let me know what’s your favorite shade? Also, did any of ya’ll pick up this palette or do you own any other Anastasia Beverly Hills Palettes? Let me know!
Until next time,
