*SWATCHES AT THE END OF POST*
I’ll admit, this was a total instagram purchase. Beauty Creations is a brand that I recently discovered, and one that I just kept seeing make an appearance on my feed. Being the makeup lover that I am, I began looking more into the brand. Each review that I came across was positive, and each swatch made me even more interested! The palettes can be purchased individually, or in a bundle that also includes a highlighter palette for $49.99. I decided on just the palettes, and placed my ordered during their 4th of July Sale which made each palette only $10. Ya’ll know that I love a good deal!
Personally, I’m all about aesthetic. I always appreciate when brands take the time to make a collection truly cohesive. This particular collection has a California Theme, and each palette really reflects that. There are palm tree prints on the inside of the palettes, and the shade names are all things or places that you’d generally associate with California. I found that to be a really neat, and super fun touch. Each palette also comes with a generous sized mirror, which is perfect for those on the go touch-ups! My only complaint would be that one of my palettes (Cali Set) only had one side of the protective seal intact upon arrival. As you can see from the photos, the top of the palette has scratches all over the lettering like it had been dragged across the floor. I checked the palette thoroughly, and none of the pans appeared to be used but it did freak me out! Other than that the shipping was fairly quick, and actually arrived ahead of the scheduled date. I live in North Carolina, so sometimes waiting on shipping from California can be quite the wait.
As soon as I got my hands on the palettes, I did a few finger swatches. I was completely blown away by how incredibly pigmented the shades were! The metallic shades in these palettes is actually better than some of my more high-end palettes. Even the matte shades are several steps up from the normal matte shadows. Seeing how amazing the shades were just from a finger swatch, I couldn’t wait to see how they would blend and perform. So, I did a look with the Cali Chic Palette for my birthday dinner which turned out amazing. Using the shades is so easy, and there was little to no fall-out when dipping into the pans. Each shade blends like a dream, and only requires one or two good swipes to see the true color. However, they can be built up easily if you’d like to really intensify your look. The staying power was also amazing, and despite the wet humid night my makeup was still flawless. I love the versatility of the colors in each palette, and feel that you can create a number of really fun looks!
Not only are these Beauty Creations Palettes affordable, but they are so worth the money. The shades are easy to work with, and all have amazing pigmentation. I would definitely recommend picking these palettes up! As far as favorite shades go, that’s a tough one but here it goes. In the Cali Chic Palette: Malibu, Tanlines, Boardwalk, Sail, Sunset, and Laguna. In the Cali Set Palette: Calabasas, Valley Girl, Hollywood, Melrose, Martini, and Westwood. Take a look at the swatches below, and let me know your favorite shades!
Until next time,
