Wanna know what’s in my bag? My January Ipsy Glam Bag, that is. For those of you who don’t know, Ipsy is a monthly beauty subscription service. For $10 a month, Ipsy will send you a themed makeup bag filled with five beauty samples.

I’m really pleased with my Glam Bag this month! The blue and white striped bag is super cute, and I received some great items! This month I decided to do an ‘add-on‘. For an additional fee, Ipsy will ship an item of your choosing along with your glam bag! Add-ons range in price from about $3-15 depending on the item. I’ve never done an add-on before, but I saw a palette that caught me eye and decided to give it a try! The great thing about adding an item is that shipping is free! Ipsy just slides it right in the packaging with your glam bag!

So, without further ado here is what I received in my January glam bag. Swatches will be at the end of the post.

  • ELLA EDEN – Eyeshadow in Willow – $14.00
  • FLUIDE – Lip Gloss in Elsewhere – $12.00
  • CIATÉ LONDON – Wonderwand Mascara in Black Magic – $22.00
  • NAILMEDIC – Nail Polish in Rosé & Chill -$7.99
  • H2O+BEAUTY – Oasis Hydrating Treatment -$38.00

*FULL-SIZE BONUS ADD-ON ($12 extra

  • COLOURPOP COSMETICS – “All I See Is Magic” 2017 Special Edition Palette – $20.00

Total Value of January’s Glam Bag: $94.00

The first item that I received is an Ella Eden pressed eye shadow in the shade, Willow. Now I need more eye shadow like I need a hole in the head! But, I was very excited to try out this product. I always love receiving new eye shadows, as it’s usually from a brand that I’ve yet to discover. The shade is a gorgeous mix between crimson and magenta. The texture is so creamy, which makes applying this shadow a breeze. The pigmentation is awesome, and a little goes the distance. I can definitely see this being a versatile shade that can be worn both day, and night. I can’t wait to create some fun looks with this eye shadow!

My least favorite item in this month’s glam bag would have to be the Fluide lip gloss! I’ve just never been a fan of lip glosses. I don’t like my lips to look weirdly shiny, and most lip gloss formulas that I’ve tried have been sticky and just awful. That’s just my personal opinion! But, no matter how many times I update my beauty profile with Ipsy they still send em’ anyway. Now, in the tube the gloss has a blue tint but once applied it’s just clear. If you’re a fan of lip glosses, then this item may be right up your alley. The brand also makes liquid lipsticks, loose glitters, nail polish, and eye shadow palettes that look worth checking out! Discovering new brands is what I love the most about subscriptions, so even if this item isn’t my cup of tea – I now have a new brand on my radar.

Ciaté London is a brand that I’m quite familiar with, so I was very excited to receive their Wonderwand Mascara! This brand always has the cutest packaging, and top notch products! On the days when a full face just isn’t happening, I at least try and apply some mascara! This is a volumising and lengthening mascara, so it gives you that faux falsies look. As someone who doesn’t wear falsies, I’m always looking for a great mascara to do the trick. The mascara is water-proof, and lasts throughout the day. I’d say that this is a great addition to my makeup collection, and I can’t wait to use it more.

When it comes to nail polish, Ipsy can be a little repetitive! However, this shade from Nailmedic is so gorgeous! It’s a rose gold metallic, that is infused with rose hip oil and green tea leaf extract. Not only will your nails look good, but they’ll be getting hydrated and nourished in the process. I’ve used this brand before, and I’m always satisfied with the results.

H20 + Beauty is another brand that I’ve used before, but it’s been awhile. Taking care of your skin is super important, so I’m always happy to receive skincare products! My skin is very oily, but in the winter I do have random days when my skin feels a little drier than usual. I’ve been using a new skincare brand which made around my nose and mouth super dried out, so I applied a little of this hydrating treatment. Immediately I could feel the difference, and within a couple of days those drier areas were gone. There is a slight smell to this product, but it’s a clean smell if that makes any sense. After applying this product my skin felt fresh, and definitely very hydrated! I’m already planning on purchasing a full-size of this product.

The final item that I received was the bonus add-on that I mentioned earlier! I chose the All I See Is Magic Palette by Colourpop for my add-on. If you’ve seen any of my previous posts, then you’d know that I’m a big Colourpop fan. I love that they produce affordable products with amazing quality! So, when I saw this palette I was all over it. Now, I don’t think that this palette is sold anymore being that it was a 2017 Special Edition Palette! But, if you can get your hands on it I’d highly recommend. The packaging is so cute, and I really love the shades. The only thing that I’m not a fan of is the shade names on the back of the palette, but that’s more of a personal preference.

Which subscription services are you currently receiving, or thinking about signing up for? I’m always on the hunt for another one to check out, so let me know! Anyone else receive Ipsy Glam Bags? If so, what did you get in your January bag?

What fun! It is like getting a present in the mail! I would be interested to know if they always send high brand name products.

    Great post!

Ciaté London is actually on the expensive side, so it’s amazing that she got that in a $10 sub box. Colourpop is very popular too (but more affordable).
The palette alone make that ipsy bag worth its salt. Oh my god, Anjhanee, I’m so jealous you got that CP palette. GRRR.

This is actually the second Ciatè London product that I’ve received from Ipsy! I was very pleased with this months goodies! This year they’ve included Huda Beauty, Glamglow, IT Cosmetics, Benefit Cosmetics, and more to the list of brands! So, I can’t wait to see what I receive in future bags. Ahhh, I know. It’s just a gorgeous palette. 😍

Thank you so much! The nail polish is sooo pretty. The lip gloss does stink, but I’d say the other items made up for it. Thanks for the love! ☺️
